Jandy R0461900
Fits Jandy CS series filter models: CS100, CS150
Pro Tip:
There are 4 main causes for filter tank lid failures because of cracks or leaks that require filter tank lid replacement:
- Cause #1: Pressure gets too high in the filter tank resulting in a stress crack in the tank lid, especially in compact systems using the Jandy R0461900 designed for 100–150 sq ft filters
- Solution: Monitor filter pressure gauge. Pressure at 20 PSI or higher indicates the pressure is too high. Clean off filters thoroughly. After cleaning, confirm pressure gauge shows less than 12 PSI, which is ideal for smaller filter systems using the Jandy R0461900, else replace filters. Clean out pump leaf trap and skimmer basket.
- Cause #2: Filter tank location is exposed to all the elements: sun, rain, cold, and heat. Even though the Jandy R0461900 filter lid has a smaller surface area compared to other filter models, long term exposure can still weaken the material.
- Solution: Consider having some sort of "protective cover" installed to keep the filter unit out of direct exposure to the elements.
- Luckily, my pool equipment was installed next to the house and under my balcony. 25 years and never had an issue.
- Cause #3: Over-tightening can cause a crack on the Jandy R0461900 tank lid at the fitting location due to use of excessive force.
- Solution #1: Pressure gauge and air relief assembly fittings should only be hand tightened when installing/re-installing to filter tank lid. Over-tightening using a wrench may cause a stress fracture on the fitting on the tank lid resulting in a leak.
- Solution #2: When removing and re-installing the R0461900 filter lid for filter maintenance, do NOT over-tighten. DO NOT use a mallet/hammer to tighten the locking ring. This will damage threading of the lid, locking ring and/or filter tank resulting in damage that will cause a leak and require replacement.
Specifications
Jandy original filter top assembly part no. R0461900.
- Color is gray
- Genuine Jandy replacement part which ensures proper fit and function
- A critical part of the filtration, the bottom side of the filter lid has an extrusion fitting which acts as a plug in the filter endcap. This helps direct the hydraulic pressure flow such that the unfiltered water coming in from the pool is forced over the 100 or 150 sq ft. filter surface area and forced thru the filter cartridge where debris is captured.
Includes the following:
- filter tank top
- locking ring
- tank o-ring
- pressure gauge
- clean/dirty snap ring
- pressure gauge adapter
- air release valve
- o-ring set
