Hayward XStream CC1500 Filtration Design:
The Hayward XStream filtration design is a design that was based upon the Hayward Star Clear filtration design, with an improved hydraulic efficiency. It has the cartridge bottom endcap fit tightly on the elevated filtered water collector inside the filter cartridge that connects to the water outflow piping and goes up through the center of the filter. The filter lid also acts as a plug for the top end of the filter with it's plastic extrusion that fits in the endcap. This design creates the hydraulic pressure that drives the filtration of the Hayward CC1500. Water comes in from the inflow pipe spreading the water over the filter cartridge 150 sq. ft. surface area. Hydraulic pressure in the filter tank then forces the water thru the filter cartridge and in to the elevated filtered water collector inside the filter cartridge forcing it down thru the outflow pipe at the bottom, back in to the pool.
