- Provides a tight, secure seal at the top of the filter cartridges, plugging the end caps of the cartridges and properly aligning the filter cartridges with the bottom manifold to ensure hydraulic flow of clean filtered water goes through the filters and down through the bottom manifold assembly back to the pool
- Secures the filter cartridges in place to ensure their proper function
